Between January 24 and March 7, Galeria Serpente presented Olhar Desaprendido (Unlearned Gaze), an exhibition by Helena César A.S., marking 80 years of life and painting.
Born in Xai-Xai, Mozambique (1945), Helena César A.S. studied Painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto. During her academic years, her work was regularly selected for the Magna exhibition in Lisbon, which showcased some of the most distinctive voices emerging from the Porto School.
Olhar Desaprendido brought together works spanning decades of artistic practice, reflecting an ongoing process of refining the gaze.
